Our six-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme is an undergraduate Master's degree course suitable for applicants who have completed their secondary school studies. It covers the full breadth of Veterinary Medicine, but with a particular focus on diagnostics, therapy and prevention of diseases in various species. In their final year of study, students sit the final state examination (in Czech státní závěrečná zkouška), which consists of several “partial” exams in clinical subjects chosen by the student. They also have the option of writing a thesis. Graduates of the programme are awarded the title Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, abbreviated in Czech as MVDr. As the programme is accredited by the EAEVE (European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education), the degree awarded by the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno is widely recognized throughout Europe and beyond.
